So, what a weekend! A hot, and tiring weekend but a good one none the less. So to put this in context I am currently without a studio as we have been renovating our new bedroom so our old one can become my new studio. Adding to this the bathroom renovation started the day after this fair so everything has been a bit chaotic! So on top of that I had the Urban Wedding Fair fair in Manchester hosted by The Urban Wedding Company.
So it was a hot day and there was a lot of heavy lifting and carrying stuff up and down stairs, as is the way with most city centre based fairs, but the heat made it a little uncomfortable. With the chaos of the studio, I also did not have the time or space to practise the set up so I was a bit slower than usual, but managed to get set up on time (just!)
The venue ( Manchester Art Gallery) was really unique as you can see below. Unfortunately the picture my stand was behind was not the most flavourful but overall it was good to have a bit more space and to have some lovely artwork around to inspire.
I managed to speak to some really lovely couples. This fair had a special area called the urban lounge where couples could book a meeting with suppliers to discuss their requirements in more detail (as well as watch the football!)
As this was an urban fair I worked with more urban industrial for my style but with a clear colour scheme of gold and emerald green to tie it all together. Florist was kept natural with fern leaves, foliage and a few neutral coloured blooms. Here are some additional pictures of the set up.
I met some lovely people and really enjoyed my day. I certainly didn't need to go to the gym either as loading back up I probably lost a stone so much heavy lifting and carrying up stairs in the heat!
Above: my view from my stand including roving 'brides' from the lovely Legend Bridal
So all in all a great day, plus at the end of the day I was presented with a prize for the best display selected by the manager of the art gallery! (No picture of the chocolate prize as my family scoffed it all before I had the chance!)
Like the style you see here (or did you speak to me at the fair?
